In the midst of all the hustle and bustle which typically characterises everyday life, it’s easy to lose track of all the happenings. In case you missed out on any of the action, WeeTracker’s Startup Events Glimpses has got you covered with some of the highlights from some notable startup events that took place in the region.

  • Pitching Workshop Held In Tunisia

The event was tagged; ‘Pitching and Storytelling: How To Present Your Idea Or Project’. It was aimed at reiterating the importance of building skills associated with pitching a startup or an idea in today’s entrepreneurial scene.

The event brought together a number of entrepreneurs and aspiring startup founders who were looking to benefit from the wealth of knowledge of experts in the area of pitching. At the workshop, participants were treated to some of the underlying concepts and important components of pitching. The pitching lessons taught were based on a journey of pitching experience in different events, workshops, and case studies of pitches that yielded desired results.

Participants also had the opportunity to learn winning pitching tactics, as well as gather insights on slide creation and delivery in front of an audience. Live feedbacks and tips were also given to participants who were invited to pitch during the session. 111-CoThink; the organisers of the event, played host as it was the venue of the workshop which took place on Thursday, 1st November 2018.

  • Startup Weekend Oujda 2018 Hosted In Morocco

This event was aimed at connecting the Moroccan and Belgian startup ecosystems by bringing together entrepreneurs and mentors from Morocco and Belgium for a weekend of innovation and creation.

The three-day event was put together by Startup Maroc in collaboration with MolenGeek and APEFE’s “Min Ajliki” program. Startup Maroc is an independent nonprofit association that is committed to accelerating job creation and stimulating competitiveness, as well as economic growth in Morocco through entrepreneurship and innovation.

The event served up an opportunity for industry players, resource persons, and notable players in both ecosystems to rub minds and exchange ideas on ways to foster entrepreneurial growth and innovation in both ecosystems. The event came to a close on Sunday, 4th November 2018, having kicked off on Friday, 2nd November. The venue of the event was Faculty of Sciences Oujda, Oujda, in Morocco.
