Kibanda TopUp, a Kenyan startup that intends to digitize the supply chain for Africa’s micro, small, and medium restaurants, has acquired USD 460 K in pre-seed capital to expand its customer base. JAM Fund led the round, which included mPharma founder and CEO Gregory Rockson, Flutterwave founder and CEO Olugbenga GB Agboola, Alarko Ventures’ Cem Garih, and several angel investors.
Kibanda TopUp allows restaurant operators to order goods such as grains, beverages, chicken, and beef by smartphone or SMS and have them delivered the next day. The funds will also go into hiring critical team members in Engineering and Supply Chain that will enable fast growth and development of additional products.
