South African Fintech Happy Pay Raises USD 1.8 M in Pre-Seed

Cape Town-based fintech startup Happy Pay has secured USD 1.8 M in a pre-seed round led by E4E Africa and 4Di Capital. Participating companies include DotExe Ventures, Launch Africa Ventures, Equitable Ventures, Felix Strategic Investment, and Gaingels.

Founded in 2022 by Wesley Billett, Mark Geary and Patrick Postrehovsky, Happy Pay empowers South African consumers with zero-cost instalment payments, promotes credit score improvement, and ensures equitable access to financial services.

The company has reportedly raised USD 200 K from Launch Africa Ventures in 2022 via its Seed Portfolio I.
