AMAKA Studio Secures USD 2 M Seed Funding
AMAKA Studio Secures USD 2 M Seed Funding

London-based AMAKA Studio has raised USD 2 M in seed funding, a significant milestone in its mission to empower Black and African creators worldwide. Equitane (formerly the Africa Transformation and Industrialization Fund) led the funding round, which also included Morgan Stanley Inclusive Ventures Lab, Silverbacks Holdings, and a group of angel investors.

Founded in 2020 by Adaora Oramah, AMAKA Studio has spent the past three years fostering a diverse and engaging space for creators and brands. With this new funding, the platform will expand its capabilities, allowing creators and brands to establish direct working relationships and utilize various automated, intelligent tools.

The investment will also support the launch of AMAKA Gigs, a platform aimed at revolutionizing the creator economy by streamlining collaborations between brands and creators. This new tool will promote transparency, financial equity, and ease of collaboration, helping creators be commissioned and compensated for their work.
