Vitara Agritech, a Ghanaian agricultural technology company formerly known as Sommalife, has raised EUR 1.8 M (approximately USD 2 M) in early-stage equity funding to expand its digital sourcing infrastructure and strengthen its shea supply chain.
The round was led by the European Union-funded AgriFI facility, managed by EDFI Management Company, with participation from impact investor Acumen and private angel investors.
Co-founded by Mawuse Gyisun, Vitara uses its proprietary TreeSyt platform to track shea production, manage farmer networks and facilitate digital payments.
The company engaged 47,000 active women farmers during the 2025/2026 harvest season, with more than 150,000 producers registered on its platform. Women account for 91% of its smallholder collectors, whose household incomes have reportedly increased by 20% through its sourcing model.
