KrosAI, an AI telecommunications infrastructure startup founded by Nigerian entrepreneur Joshua Barimon Firima, has raised USD 135 K to simplify the deployment of AI-powered voice agents across emerging markets.
The funding includes USD 60 K received through INSEAD’s AI Venture Lab, although the company has not disclosed the full breakdown of its investors.
Founded after Firima’s earlier AI venture encountered difficulties securing telecom partnerships and phone numbers, KrosAI connects AI voice agents to local telephone networks, handling phone number provisioning, identity verification and call routing.
The platform has established direct telecom connections in Nigeria and South Africa, attracted more than 60 paying businesses and processed hundreds of thousands of call minutes. It plans to expand into Rwanda and eventually operate in at least 15 countries.
