Rwandan insurtech startup Eden Care, which offers affordable, accessible, and personalized health coverage to businesses and their employees, is, so far, the only African company confirmed as a participant in the S23 batch of the renowned Silicon Valley-based Y Combinator accelerator. The startup will receive USD 500 K as per YC’s new standard deal.
Eden Care’s approach leverages technology and data science to help members seamlessly navigate the healthcare system. For employers, Eden Care provides a dashboard that simplifies managing your team’s cover in a few simple clicks compared to the dozens of emails and calls it currently takes to manage an employee’s cover. Eden Care’s wellness-first cover helps employers attract and engage employees and keeps them happy and healthy, improving employee productivity.
Last year, the startup successfully raised pre-seed funding from DOB Equity, Seedstars International, and other investors. Building on this achievement, they have recently added to their financial backing after being chosen as the first-ever Rwandan company to participate in the esteemed Y Combinator program. This milestone provides them with the opportunity to enhance their growth trajectory and explore new avenues with increased resources.
